Sam是一位電影院的放映員。一天他和放映部的主管一起試看一部恐怖片。Sam看到一半不知不覺睡著了，醒來的時候，主管失蹤，他只好在夜裡自己一個人再看一遍。他一邊看電影，一邊打電話找主管，但電話鈴聲竟然來自正在播放的電影裡！Sam驚訝的發現，他主管已經成為電影裡的一具屍體。他害怕到快發瘋，但卻不敢把這件事告訴別人，因為沒人會相信這麼荒謬的事。那晚之後，靈異事件不斷發生....而這些事件，就和這部電影的劇情一模一樣…。
